The collection of objects, books and posters that this museum displays, recreates the golden age of magic, with objects that are essential to the understanding of a cultural phenomenon full of ingenuity, imagination and skill. The thematic exhibit shows different items used in magic tricks. In order to understand the significance of El Rei de la Màgia you first have to appreciate the importance of its location. A range of documents that belonged to the founder, J. Partagàs, provides a valuable record of this Barcelona’s local shop dating back over 100 years, which was founded with a primary aim of bringing magic to a wider audience.
